I'm trying to give my son an appreciation for the outdoors that he can mold into his own as he grows. I want to keep him excited for nature, and fresh air as he grows up before the lure of technology takes over. I don't want to oppose technology for its a great asset in our lives, but how you keep it balanced is the more significant question. We go on little "adventures" or hikes whenever we can. I keep them short and try to excite him wherever I can. This little adventure was a mile and a half walk (he rides on my shoulders most the time) through a Filbert Orchard to the river. It was his idea to have a leaf fight!
Dorris Ranch OR
Little Adventures : Dorris Ranch
With the good weather holding out, we made our way down to America's first and oldest filbert orchard, Dorris Ranch. This is such a fun area, trails, nature, old farm equipment, and lots of exploring. We took our time as we spent the afternoon hiking around the ranch. What a fun afternoon.
